Okinawa Hiking Tour in the Yanbaru National Park
HALF-DAY & ONE-DAY ACTIVE TOURS Available FROM ¥9000
Experience the Beauty of an Okinawa Hiking Tour
Embark on an adventure in Okinawa, Japan’s southernmost prefecture, with an Active Okinawa Hiking Tour. This tour offers travelers a chance to trek through some of the best hiking trails in Okinawa Prefecture, located in the north of the main island of Okinawa. Our guided hikes take you through lush jungles, along rocky paths, and to stunning waterfalls. The hikes in Okinawa are quite a contrast to the hikes available back on the mainland of Japan but whether you’re an experienced hiker or a whole family looking to enjoy nature, our tour caters to all.
You Can Also Enjoy your Okinawa Hiking Tour as the morning or afternoon of the popular Okinawa Active Combo Tour or watch the sunset while on a hike as part of our Okinawa Sunset Sightseeing Tour.
Explore the Wildlife of the UNESCO World Heritage Ratified Yanbaru National Park
The hiking trails we use are through the verdant Yanbaru National Park Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its beautiful and diverse flora and fauna. As you traverse the park’s scenic trails, keep an eye out for the Okinawan Rail and other endemic wildlife that inhabit this subtropical rainforest. Our knowledgeable guides will ensure your safety while providing insights into the park’s unique ecosystem. Whether it’s sunny or rainy, be prepared to get wet, sweaty, and possibly a bit muddy – it’s all part of the immersive, tropical, nature experience!
Discover The Great Hiji Waterfall and Karst Limestone on the Various trails of the Island
We use a wide range of hiking trails on our Active Okinawa Hiking Tour that can cater to all abilities. One such trail is a route to the spectacular Hiji Waterfall, located within the dense forests of the Kunigami area. The trail to the waterfall is a mix of natural paths and steep stairs, making it a fun challenge for any hiker. Once there, you can admire the pristine waters cascading down the rocky cliffs.
Another highlight of one of our trails is exploring the island’s limestone rock formations in the Ogimi village area around Mount Kugani and the gorgeous Mount Nekumachiji. These stunning geological features add a unique element to Okinawa’s landscape. As you climb through these rocky jungle terrains, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the unspoiled coastal scenery that makes Okinawa a superb destination for nature lovers.
Whether looking for a half-day tour or a full one-day excursion, we can choose the right hike for you. If you choose a full one-day tour, we provide locally made lunch boxes, snacks, and drinks to keep your energy levels high. And don’t forget to bring your swimwear on that one-day tour, there’s always a chance for a refreshing dive into the clear waters of an Okinawa river or beach. At the end of the day, our guide, who doubles as your personal photographer, will provide you with all the photos and videos capturing your memorable adventure.
