Start With a Jungle Trek & Shower Climb

Suit up with all the gear and follow the course of the river up as far as we can go. We equip every participant with a wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, and harness (available for free rental). Special shoes are available for free plus wetsuit jackets for the colder months late in the season. Please come dressed in your bathing suit (or clothes that you can get wet) as you will get wet on the day.

Unlike other companies on the island that are mostly accredited for ocean activities like SUP, canoe, kayaking, or snorkeling, Active Okinawa’s guides are from a professional river guide training background in white-water rafting and canyoning. We focus on every detail so keep this in mind and make the right choice to enjoy nature and the river safely.

Once we make it up to the top of the canyon there is only one way to go. Listen to our guides as they take you back down the river, over majestic waterfalls, cliffs, and pools. They use a wide range of techniques that utilize ropes and you may even learn how to abseil on the way. We try to include a jump or 2, if possible, so your trip will remain exciting from start to finish.

Our professional river guides will be with you as you continue your journey in the river and pass through a wide variety of animals and plants, feeling the breath of the forest of Yanbaru with every step.

FULL DAY TOUR

7:30 am for accommodation pick-ups
8:00 am at the meeting point (Nago or Ogimi)
Around 4-5 hours on the water (split between AM and PM)
10-12 hours total with stops along the way and travel time.

HALF DAY TOUR

We operate daily
7:30 am for morning accommodation pick-ups
12:30 pm for afternoon accommodation pick-ups
8:00 am at the morning meeting point (Nago or Ogimi)
12:45 pm at the afternoon meeting point (Nago or Ogimi)
Around 2-3 hours on the water

We utilize many different areas and choose the venue right for your ability. Our price does reflect our commitment to safety for all of our staff and clients. For groups of over 4 people, please contact us for special booking arrangements.
